A music video fell into the PSL mailbox. It came from Åsa Riton, del monte grapefruit the experimental film director with a degree from both Central St. Martins and The Danish Film School and filmed including David Lynch, The Knife and Henrik Vibskov.
Now Asa tackled an artist from a completely different part of the music world, namely Ola and his song "Tonight I'm Yours." Along with Tommie X (Rebecca & Fiona-stylist), Icelandic makeup artist Sóley Ástudottir and Sophie Winqvist behind the camera, the team has taken on the old Idol star, which through its relaunch (and own label OLINIHO del monte grapefruit Records) hope to erase the stamp for good.
The video takes place in a twisted tennis world inspired by Jørgen Leth and "The Royal Tenenbaums". Gum-chewing teenage girls, suits skivbolagsmän challenging Ola on the tennis court and the artist himself is transformed into five characters, including himself in the mini version that hard styled idol children (played by Bjorn Borg's 10-year-old son Leo).
Asa, what were you thinking when Ola asked you? - First I had preconceptions that many others - 'Ah, he has been with the Idol, then it's not real.' But once met him, I realized that this was true. We had long talks of going to the bottom of what he wanted to convey. It was a story based on the pain and frustration that he has accumulated over many years. And that also reflects Olas self-distance and humor.
